2007 Summit of Christian Women Leaders

A warm invitation to attend a special

Summit for Christian Women Leaders:
"Tending The Garden"

March 9-10, 2007 at Rolling Ridge Conference Center in Andover, MA

Keynote Speaker
Our keynote speaker and facilitator for the weekend is Katherine Doster, who works with the Navigators in the Washington, D.C. area.
Her theme will be Tending the Garden. Here is how Katherine describes our upcoming time together:

You are invited to a retreat that is designed to nourish your soul. We will ask you to leave your leadership role aside and allow your Lord to spend time with you in your garden examining the soil. Dependent upon the Lord’s presence, we will use reflection tools, in alone time and small group sharing and prayer to allow God to nurture your ‘soil’ . Helpful tools will be provided to help you listen to God, to yourself, and to others. Leaders need the body of Christ and the nourishment of accountability, sharing, prayer, etc. as much as any of those God calls them to lead. We serve best when we model healthiness. Our prayer and experience is that the tools you will utilize in our time together are lifelong supports for healthy gardening. Having a garden that is tended to by God, glorifies Him. Sometimes we plant things He hasn’t asked us to. Let’s come together and listen.

Why is this Summit "special"?

Along with attending this exciting Summit, you will have the opportunity to explore a new direction for Women's Ministries: regional meetings for women leaders. Read more about regional meetings for women leaders.

Summit Details

  • The Summit begins Friday at 7:00 PM and concludes Saturday by 4:00 PM.  Plan to arrive between 5:00-6:30 to register.
  • In the past, we have limited the number of women leaders from each church to 4 participants. That guideline is waived for this Summit. There is no limit. Please pass this information on to those women in your sphere of influence who would be interested in attending this special summit.
  • Accommodations are family-style with rooms varying from two beds with private bath to six beds and a bath off the hall. There is one room on the main floor that is handicap accessible (two twin beds). Linens are provided. Rooms will be assigned on a first-come, first-served basis as you register.
  • If you plan to attend, we will mail you Henri Nouwen’s book In the Name of Jesus: Reflections on Christian Leadership. Reading this book prior to the Summit will greatly enhance our time together. It is a short book that can be easily read in one sitting.
  • Plan to bring 50 copies of various ministry resources to share with fellow attendees. These could be brochures, ministry tips, planning guides, organizational tools, etc.

Registration Information

  • The registration fee of $80 covers overnight lodging, breakfast and lunch on Saturday, and materials. Please note: Your registration fee is transferable but non-refundable.
  • An optional pre-conference dinner is available Friday evening at 5:45 p.m. for an additional $14.00. You will need to pre-register in advance.
  • For optimum benefit, we heartily recommend you attend both days. If circumstances militate against you attending the complete Summit, you may come as a ‘commuter;’ though you will still need to pre-register. See the following page for the conference fees.
  • By late February, you will receive a final confirmation letter with directions and a listing of those participating. If you have other concerns, please call us at (978) 929-9800 Ext. 360. You may also e-mail me at Psa1611@comcast.net
  • To register, download and print this registration form. You must fill it out and return it, along with your registration check, payable to Vision New England, to my home: 79 Mill Road, Chelmsford, MA 01824-4844
